I am primarily a sf fan, so my favorite movies reflect that:
Starship Troopers Contact Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan
I also enjoy comedies, although usually I forget the plots soon after the flick ends, due to the generic nature of the genre. But sf is my true love.

the wizard of oz is another great one!!
when i go to college in a month, im not allowed to take my car, so i'm taking my bike (its a huge campus). i was told that i will want a basket on it for my books, and whenever my mom sees the bike now, she hums the song from the the movie when the neighbor is riding away with Toto in the basket.
it wasnt funny after the first 100 times

Tombstone
Finding Nemo
Zoolander
Shawshank Redemption
Old School
There are so many... i just moved into college today and I have two drawers of DVDs and VHS... so hard to list the favorites so I went with the first to come to mind.

I like: ~The Dead Poets' Society ~The Lord of the Rings Trilogy ~Gone with the Wind
I am actually a huge fan of old classic movies, but if I listed them I don't know if anyone would know what they are. I love movies from the 30s and 40s. I especially like James Stewart in The Shop around the Corner ( a first to the more modern "you've got mail") My other faves are Katharine Hepburn& Spencer Tracy in all the films they made together-ie-"Woman of the Year" "Pat and Mike" "Adam's Rib." Cary Grant is a very funny guy. Has anyone ever seen him in "I was a mail war bride" or "Arsenic and Old Lace"?
sorry for the ramble, just passing some time. cheers to all applemartini
