But there can be no excuse for those sucky, amateurish covers!!! And personally, I'd pay whatever it took to have the 'extra' information that could be put onto these discs. What will probably happen is that once we've all shelled out for the cheap ones, Fox will release 'real' Collectors Editions, with the extras we want, and charge us for them again.

i agree, there is no excuse for those covershots. but as for them releasing real collector's editions in a few years, i wouldnt put it past Fox to do just that.

But there can be no excuse for those sucky, amateurish covers!!! Oh, there is no denying that. The covers are just plain bad. Honestly, though, I do not think FOX will put out a special edition or collector's edition of the show on DVD. That may work for movies on DVD, releasing multiple versions, but it is harder to get people to dish out a lot of money again for a handful of extras. In fact, the only time I can remember this happening was with, again, Star Trek. Paramount first released the three seasons on DVD as two-episode packs. And now they are releasing the three seasons as season sets. The only way I would consider buying a collector's edition, should it ever be released, would have to be if a) I can unload my regular edition sets on eBay for a substantial sum and b) the extras include things I have not seen yet.

The season 6 cover image has to be the worst one though. The picture isn't even very clear and the image looks even worse on the R2 boxset.
I would like: - Decent pictures - Out takes - Commentaries (I love the commentaries on the Dead Zone boxset) and on GFA I'd like to see the anniversaries and Making M*A*S*H.

i think that the 30th anniversary and reunions would be great.. i watched 5mins of the anniversary a long while a go, but i didnt like M*A*S*H at the time so pretty pointless.. so i'd like to be able to watch them..
also interviews with cast and crew members

I still want to know why they eliminated the "laugh track optional" feature.

I would really like to see A&E's TV-Ography of MASH, "Television's Serious Sitcom", to be on DVD.

If I recall correctly, the TV-Ography really was not that great.

I would love to see bloopers and outtakes, interviews and commentaries. Some better cover art would also be good. And maybe a kind of "making of M*A*S*H" where they kind of tell us how it all came together. I dont know if tehy ahve already done something like that.
Id also like to see something about what M*A*S*H was based on, the real mash units and people.

Id also like to see something about what M*A*S*H was based on, the real mash units and people. On the movie version DVD releases of MASH (the "Five-Star Collector's" edition and the "Award Series" edition) there is a program called "MASH: Comedy Under Fire" (which was shown on the History Channel as a part of their 'History VS Hollywood'). That can be found on disc two. Again the movie version DVD.

Fox are indeed going to give us all the shaft and release a box set of all 11 seasons with "never before seen Extras". Infuriating or what?

I posted this on the other MASH-related boards: Footage of Larry and David visiting the US troops in Korea!
